Suggested cleaners:
• Quaternary Cleaners (active ingredient - ammonium chloride) .
• Phenolic Cleaners (active ingredient - o-phenylphenol) .
• Chlorinated Bleach Solution (5 .25% - less than 1 part bleach to 100 parts water) .
Avoid over saturation and ensure the product does not stay wet longer than the chemical manufacturer's guidelines
for proper disinfecting .

SUPPORT SURFACE CLEANING

WARNING
• Unplug the support surface power cord before cleaning the support surface . Failure to unplug the unit could cause
equipment damage or personal injury .
• Do not immerse the support surface or foot box in cleaning or disinfectant solutions . Do not allow liquid to pool on
the support surface or foot box . Immersion or liquid pooling could cause malfunction resulting in equipment damage
or patient injury .

Using a damp, clean, soft cloth, wipe down the entire support surface with a mild soap and water solution .

Lift up the foot section of the support surface to clean the bottom surface .

To clean the bottom of the head section of the support surface, carefully lift up the head section and fold it over
the seat section . Clean as described above and allow the surface to dry completely before gently lowering the
head section back into place .
CAUTION
• Do not drop the head section of the support surface back onto the bed frame . Abrupt dropping of the support
surface head section could damage the controls and cause equipment malfunction .
• Wipe down all surfaces with a clean, dry cloth to remove any excess moisture .
• Do not iron, dry-clean, or tumble dry the XPRT™ therapeutic support surface, as this will cause malfunction and
damage the product .
• The support surface cover must be completely dry before storing, adding linens or placing a patient on the surface .
Failure to remove excess disinfectant could cause degradation of the cover material .
• Avoid over exposure to alcohol or hydrogen peroxide . Swelling of the cover material will result .

FOOT BOX CLEANING

To clean the foot box, use a non-abrasive cleaning solution (i .e . warm, soapy water) and wipe down with a clean, damp,
soft cloth .
WARNING
Allow the foot box to completely dry before placing the support surface over it . Excess moisture could cause equipment
malfunction resulting in equipment damage or patient injury .
