According to the "Technical maintenance", check and adjust the tension of the
belt between the fan and generator belt regularly. The method of adjustment is
press it, it should yield 10 to 20mm.
5.10 Electrical system
The device system includes, storage battery, start engine, charging generator,
start button, instruments, etc. (The series diesel engine is delivered without
battery, start button, tools, etc.).

The storage battery will be of 12V or 24V depending on the engine size.
The alternator is a silicon rotor and an excitation winding, JF21 model. It
consists of a three-phase AC motor and a silicon diode. The negative pole is
grounded; otherwise it may damage the generator. See Operation and
Maintenance Manual for JF series alternators for operation and maintenance.
The teeth of the starter motor and flywheel ring of the diesel engine are
controlled by the electromagnetic switch (relay). When the relay acts, it pushes
the pinion teeth against the ring gear of the flywheel, the starter engine rotates
the diesel engine.
