5.6 Pulling the handpiece cover on
We recommend using the handpiece covers provided as ac-
cessories. Alternatively, you can use equivalent handpiece
covers with a diameter of 20 to 27 mm. This represents a
sleeve width of approx. 30 to 45 mm.
In order to protect the handpiece and the handpiece cable
from contamination with bodily fluids or accompanying pre-
parations contaminated with bodily fluids during the treat-
ment:
Unplug the handpiece cable from the handpiece.
E
Slide the handpiece cover fully over the handpiece cable.
E
Connect the handpiece cable, with the handpiece cover
E
fitted on it, to the handpiece connection once more.
Draw the end of the handpiece cover fully over the
E
handpiece.
Stick the end of the handpiece cover firmly to the mov-
E
ing part of the handpiece.

5.7 Inserting or replacing the safety
cartridge
WARNING
Danger of injury due to needles
Injuries through contaminated needles can result in the
transmission of diseases.
Only use original amiea med safety cartridges with
E
the device that match the supplied handpiece. The
safety membrane integrated in the safety cartridges
prevents the return flow of (body) fluids as well as the
ingress of pathogens into the handpiece.
Never touch the tip of the safety cartridge.
E
Switch the handpiece off before replacing the safety
E
cartridge.
Never press the needles out of the safety cartridge.
E
When removing a safety cartridge, ensure that any
E
fluids such as ink or accompanying preparations that
may be being used do not run from the safety cart-
ridge into the handpiece.
After removing the used safety cartridge, check that
E
the needles have been completely withdrawn into the
cartridge.
Dispose of used safety cartridges that are no longer
E
required for the current treatment properly (see
chapter "9 Disposal" on page 46).
The safety cartridges are shipped in sterile packaging.
E
Only remove them from the sterile packaging immedi-
ately before use. To do so, open the sterile packaging
of the safety cartridge at the PEEL marking (
Always place the handpiece back in the handpiece
E
tray so that the safety cartridge does not rest on the
surface.
In the event of being injured by a contaminated
E
needle, seek medical attention from a physician.
The needles of the amiea med safety cartridges are pro-
duced from stainless steel (1.4310, X10CrNi18-8, AISI
301). The tips of the amiea med safety cartridges are pro-
duced from PC (polycarbonate).
Switch the handpiece off.
E
Hold the safety cartridge by the base body and when in-
E
serting it in the handpiece (never hold it by the tip!).
