CAUTION!
Infection control: to make treatment as safe as possible for patients and
operators, the fi bre optic and the protective guard must be cleaned,
disinfected and sterilised before all treatment. Follow the instructions listed
in paragraph 8 (Cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation) step by step.

Light intensity measurement
To determine whether light intensity is suffi cient, place the fi bre optic rod (1) fl at and directly
on the intensity sensor (2) and switch on the lamp by pressing the button (3).

GREEN LED = suffi cient luminous power for the treatment.
YELLOW LED = insuffi cient luminous power.

If the luminous power is insuffi cient, patients must not be treated.
In this case the following controls and measures are to be carried out:
1) Check to see if the fi bre optic rod is correctly inserted into the hand piece
(see paragraph 6.4 Connecting accessories).
2) Check to see if the fi bre optic rod is contaminated or damaged.
Clean the contaminated fi bre optic rod (see paragraph 8.4 Cleaning, disinfecting and
sterilisation of the fi bre optic) or replace the damaged fi bre optic rod with a new one.
If these measures do not lead to an improvement in operation, switch off the unit
(pull out the mains plug) and ensure that unauthorised reactivation is not possible.
Have the unit repaired by Heraeus Kulzer, a Heraeus Kulzer service partner or trained,
specialist personnel (see paragraph 13 Service).
