15.10.3. Deltas and flying wings
Menu: DELTA
To control a delta or flying wing model aircraft the AI-
LERON and ELEVATOR functions have to be super-
imposed (mixed), and the signals passed to two elevon
servos.

Caution: the mixer uses servos 1 and 2
If you activate the DELTA mixer (value other than 0%),
the servos must be connected to receiver outputs 1
and 2.
This makes it possible to use small, lightweight four-
channel receivers in deltas and flying wings.
Activating the DELTA mixer and setting the travels
for ELEVATOR:
to MENU,
to MIXER,
to DELTA
The current setting for the DELTA mixer flashes in the
bottom line of the screen.
You can now use the 3-D digi-adjustor to set any value
within the range -100% to 100% in 1% increments.
Important:
Set two values (for "up" and "down") !
The travel for ELEVATOR must be set separately for
both directions of stick movement.
a.
Pull the ELEVATOR stick back (towards you) and
hold it there:
Set the up-elevator travel
b.
Move the ELEVATOR stick forward (away from
you) and hold it there:
Set the down-elevator travel
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The values are stored.
Setting the travels for AILERON:
The elevon travels for AILERON are set in the MIXER
menu under AI->AI (
essary to set a value for each direction of travel.

Setting up optional differential aileron travel:
It is possible to set up aileron differential if it is neces-
sary for your model. All you need to do is set the ap-
propriate up and down travels for each direction of
travel (
15.5.2.).
Altering the direction of AILERON travel
If the ailerons work the wrong way round, use Dual-
Rate DR Q to reverse the function.
15.10.4. Electronic Y-lead
Menu: (
The electronic Y-lead allows you to control two servos
with the same function. The advantage compared to a
"wired" Y-lead is that the electronic alternative enables
you to adjust the centre, travel and direction of rotation
for both "parallel-wired" servos, independently of each
other.
Example: using servos 6 and 7 as landing flaps
The signal from the SPOILER transmitter control is
passed to servo 6. However, if you wish to operate the
two flaps using one servo each, this can be im-
plemented very easily using the "electronic Y-lead".
The control signal from receiver output 6 is connected
in parallel to receiver output 7 using the Y-LEAD func-
tion; it can then control the second servo.
The directions of rotation and the end-points for the two
servos can be set independently in the menus SERVO
REV and SERVO TRAVL. (
Activating the Y-LEAD function:
to MENU,
to MIXER,
to Y-KABL
The current setting flashes. Use the 3-D digi-adjustor to
select 1 to 6 as the signal source for servo 7. We have
chosen servo 6 in the example above.
A brief press
process. The flashing ceases, and the setting is stored.
