PITCH-AXIS stick forward (towards aerial) =
Swashplate tilts forward
(in direction of flight)
If this is not the case, then either you have selected the
wrong rotor head type (
nected the servos to the receiver in the correct se-
quence (
16.3.).
Correct any problem by re-connecting the servos, or by
selecting the appropriate rotor head type, then go back
to the process of checking the collective pitch function
(
16.4.1.)
Note: setting the travel for ROLL and PITCH-AXIS
In this case only the direction of swashplate travel
needs to be checked. The magnitude of the control
movements for ROLL and PITCH-AXIS is set using
Dual-Rates in the TRANSMITTER CONTROL menu
(
16.9.1.).
16.4.3.
Setting up the swashplate
for rotor head types 1 to 4
Note: head type 0
If you are using rotor head type 0 (mechanical mixers),
you can move straight on to the next section (
Note: setting swashplate travels
In this case only the direction and the maximum val-
ues for the swashplate travel need to be checked and
set. The magnitude of the control movements is set
using the COLLECTIVE PITCH curve (
This is the procedure:
a.
Move the collective pitch stick to centre, and set
the roll / pitch-axis trims to neutral.
b.
Check that the servo output arms are at right-
angles to the pushrods.
If this is not the case, remove the output arms and
replace them as close to 90° to the pushrods as
possible.
c.
If necessary, adjust the servo centres electroni-
cally so that the output arms are exactly at right-
angles to the pushrods.
d.
Move the collective pitch stick to check whether
the servo travel provides the specified travel of the
rotor blades (rotor blade pitch angles for collective
pitch min. / max.).
If not, first adjust the travels mechanically by re-
connecting the pushrods further inboard / outboard
at the servo output arms.
Note: collective pitch stick set to +/-100% travel
If you are setting up a new model in the memory, the
collective pitch stick will deliver full servo travel (-100%
to 100%) by default.
e.
With the collective pitch stick at centre, check that
the swashplate is horizontal.
If not, extend or shorten the pushrods to correct
the position of the swashplate.
f.
Move the collective pitch stick to COLLECTIVE
PITCH maximum.
Check that the swashplate is horizontal.
If not, correct it by adjusting the servo travels.

16.5.).
g.
Move the collective pitch stick to COLLECTIVE
PITCH minimum.
Check that the swashplate is horizontal.
If not, correct it by adjusting the servo travels.
Brief instructions: setting servo centre and travel
to MENU, ( ) (SETUP appears)
to SERVO, ( ) (servo number1 appears)
select desired servo

Caution when adjusting TRAVL:
The stick selects travel forward / back, or right / left!
conclude process, and select different parameter or
another servo.
16.5. Setting the collective pitch curve
Menu: (
If you have set up a new model memory, the default
settings for the five collective pitch curve points are as
follows:
P1 = -100%, P2 = -50%, P3 = 0%, P4 = 50%,
P5 = 100%
There are two methods of setting the collective pitch
curve (exactly as described for the throttle curve):
a.
Selecting the points using the collective pitch
stick
(Quick-Select, one menu)
to MENU, ,
to PITCH,
If you now move the collective pitch stick, the
number in the last position indicates which point
on the collective pitch is currently selected.
Open the parameter with a brief press (the value
starts to flash); select one of the five points, and
set the appropriate value.
A further brief press stops the value flashing.
You can now check the values of the five points,
but not change them.
The advantage of this procedure:
You can quickly and easily check the curve points,
or change them if necessary, without having to
leave this menu.
b.
Selecting the points using the 3-D digi-adjustor
(5 menus with the points P1 to P5)
to MENU, ,
to PITCH, (PITQS1 appears)
Search for the point you wish to adjust using the 3-
D digi-adjustor (
(PIT P1 to PIT P5)
