Description
The reusable manual orthopedic surgical instruments contained in the Evolution
Removal Kits consist of drivers for standard metric and English hex drivers, hexalobe
drivers, broken and stripped screw removers, specific drivers, extensions, ratchet handle,
multi-axial handle, counter torque wrench, combination wrenches, needle-nose locking
pliers and cutting instruments. The instruments are provided in an instrument storage
container.

Intended Use

The Evolution-TL Removal Kit is intended for use in the removal of spinal hardware from
the lumbar and thoracic regions of the spine. The Evolution-C Removal Kit is intended for
use in the removal of spinal hardware from the cervical region of the spine.
The intended use of the various drivers is to remove implanted screws based on the
screw head configuration.
The intended use of the ratcheting and fixed drivers is to remove implanted screws,
utilizing the appropriate driver types for the implanted screws.
The intended use of the rod cutter is to shear various sized rods based on the clinician
and surgical requirements.
The intended use of the open ended wrenches is to remove fasteners.
The intended use of the adjustable pliers is to securely grip and manipulate rods.
The intended use of the extensions is to provide additional length to the various drivers
used for the removal of implanted screws.
The intended use of the counter torque wrenches is to provide reactionary torque
(counter torque) to a rod during the removal of spinal hardware.
The intended use of the tri-lobe adaptor is to provide a tri-lobe connection to the various
drivers used for the removal of implanted screws.
