To remove a stripped screw, rotate the screw extractor in the counter-clockwise direction
on the stripped screw head surface.
The ratcheting driver is to be used with the appropriate bit driver needed for screw
removal. The bit driver can be inserted into the ratcheting driver by compressing the
adaptor collar and inserting the appropriate ¼" square or AO driver. Ensure that the
driver is fully engaged prior to use. The ratchet can operate in a forward or reverse
ratcheting direction, or in a locked setting (fixed driver). The direction of the ratcheting
driver can be changed by rotating the selector ring in the clockwise or counter-clockwise
direction. The bit driver can be removed from the ratcheting driver by compressing the
adaptor collar.
The fixed driver is to be used with the appropriate bit driver needed for screw removal.
The bit driver can be inserted into the fixed driver by compressing the adaptor collar and
inserting the appropriate ¼" square or AO driver. The bit driver can be removed from the
fixed driver by compressing the adaptor collar.
The extensions are to be used with a fixed or ratcheting handle to provide additional
length to the bit drivers used to remove implanted screws. The extensions can
be inserted into the adaptors of the ratcheting or fixed drivers. Bit drivers can be
inserted into the extensions by either compressing the adaptor collar and inserting
(AO extensions) or by inserting the male bit driver connection end into the female
connection end of the extension (1/4" sq extensions). The bit drivers can be removed
from the extensions by either compressing the adaptor collar (AO extensions) or pulling
the bit driver out of engagement (1/4" sq extensions).
The counter torque wrenches are used to apply a counter torque or opposite torque to a
spinal rod during surgery. The counter torque can be inserted into the appropriate fixed
handle. The tip of the counter torque with the full radius slot can be placed over the rod
to provide stability as needed.
The adjustable pliers can be used to grip spinal rods during the screw extraction process.
The pliers can lock based on the position of the screw knob on one of the handles.
The open ended wrenches are used to remove fasteners. The open ended wrenches
can remove various sized fasteners based on the open ended wrench size. Engage the
wrench onto the mating features of the implanted screw and rotate the wrench in the
counter-clockwise direction to remove the screw.
The tri-lobe adapter can be used with a handle with a female tri-lobe adapter or a 3-jaw
chuck adapter. An appropriate sized bit driver can be inserted into the female square
end of the tri-lobe adapter in order to remove an implanted screw.
The rod cutter can be used to shear rods in various sizes, as dictated by the surgical
procedure and surgeon. To cut a rod, open the rod bender handles by pulling away from
each other, insert a rod to be lined up with the rod cutter teeth, and apply force to close
the rod cutter handles by pushing the handles towards each other.
