The pump must be put into service within 2 months. If the period of storage is any longer than this,
ATTENTION
observe the recommendations of the manufacturer of the batteries and the instructions in para. 3.2.1.
- It is obligatory to observe the measures set down by the procedures and required by law during each
stage of work.
- Keep naked flames and cigarettes away from the batteries and avoid generating any sparks. Do not
bend over batteries when they are running and during the installation or removal operations.
- The batteries can release corrosive and harmful substances. Use suitable protective equipment!

Control panel of the diesel pump
Follow these instructions:
- Connect the system to the ground before making any other connection ( Yellow/Green terminal)
- Protect the exposed cables from accidental knocks or damage.
- Protect the power line according to the regulations in force.
- Use cables suitable for the type of installation, according to the regulations in force.
- Connect the electric control panel to the diesel pump using a connector.
- Refer to the wiring diagram supplied together with the electric panel for the connection of:
-
Starting devices (pressure switch and/or level switch)
Alarm signalling devices
-
- Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds to the voltage shown on the electric panel rating plate.
ATTENTION
- Check that the power supply cable is capable of carrying the nominal current of the set, and connect it
to the relevant control panel supply terminals after connecting the batteries to the panel.
- Do not start the pumps until they have been filled with liquid. See the pump instructions manual. To
start, follow the procedure described in the Start-up section.
In particular, the connection of the level switch: The level switch installed in the priming tanks for suction lift sets is designed to
start the diesel pump when the water level in the tank drops. The level switch connection terminals are normally jumpered to
enable operation. When installing the level switch, make sure you remove the jumper found on the terminals.
The panel features clean contacts for signalling purposes, suitable for connection to alarms and/or remote signalling devices,
for the main functions:
Obligatory as per standard EN12845

- The electric panel installation and maintenance operations may be performed by qualified electricians
ATTENTION
only!
- The diesel pump is an automatic starting machine that can start up even in the absence of any voltage
in the panel!
- Never connect the VAC voltage before connecting the batteries because doing so could damage the
electronic devices.
The electric panel must be located near the diesel pump, in a position where it is easy to access.

Grounding
The metal parts of the system that are subject to contact with people, and which as a result of faulty insulation or any other
cause could be energized, must be connected to a ground plate.
The foundations of the diesel pumps and the electric panels are equipped with a ground terminal.
ATTENTION
Connect this to the equipotential earth system.
The electric panel installation and maintenance operations may be performed by qualified electricians
only.
The connection cable to the ground plate and the related contact resistance must be sized according to the regulations and
standards in force.
