WARNING
Carry out the unpacking, assembly, lifting and
installation operations described with care.
Failure to comply with these recommenda-
tions may damage the equipment and put the
operator's safety at risk.
Assembling the equipment
- Unpack the equipment, placing the packaging
in the position shown by the markings on it.
- Remove the monitor from its packaging
(fig.3).
- Fit the monitor to the bracket provided (fig. 4)
passing the power supply and signal cables
through the opening and secure all parts with
the screws supplied.
- Remove the back panel of the lower cabi-
net.
- Take the aligner Sim Card (fig. 52) and remove
it from its profiled support (keep the Sim Card
support, with serial number, for any future
enquiries) and fit it into the slot provided (A,
fig. 53 with box open) with the gilded contacts
facing downwards and the cut-away corner
towards the outside of the reader (B, fig. 53).
Replace the front panel. The reader can be
fixed underneath the PC shelf (A, fig.54) using
the threaded rivets (B, fig.51) and the screws
provided, or it can be installed above the PC
later (B, fig.54).
- Unpack the personal computer (fig. 6).
- Through the front door, place the computer
on the top shelf (fig.7).
For correct positioning, place the front of the
computer level with the front of the shelf.
- Unpack the printer (A, fig. 8), place it inside
the drawer of the cabinet (B, fig. 8) and connect
the power supply and data cables (C, fig. 8),
passing them through the holes in the drawer
(D, fig. 8).
- On radio version wheel aligners, fix the central
unit radio, supplied with the radio sensors, on
the cabinet using the connections provided
(Fig.5) and use a sensor cable to connect
it to one of the cabinet sensor connectors
(H Fig.22).
- Connect the cables with the aid of the wiring
diagram (Fig. 57); all the plugs are clearly
marked on their respective PC sockets. Press
the plugs fully down without applying too

much force, and tighten the safety screws
where present (fig. 9). Note the differences in
wiring, depending on whether the smart card
reader is installed inside or outside the PC,
as illustrated below.
- Connect the sensor input cable to the reader's
male 9-pin D-connector marked "SENSOR"
(C, fig.55). Connect the reader's female 9-pin
D-connector marked "RS232" (B, fig.55) to
serial port COM1 of the PC using the cable
provided. Connect the remote control flat ca-
ble to the reader's 25-pin D-connector marked
"REMOTE" (A, fig.55). Connect the reader's
USB connector (D, fig.55) to one of the PC's
USB connectors.
- The wheel aligner is supplied set to operate
on a power supply of 230 VAC. It can be set to
operate on a mains voltage of 115 VAC. Posi-
tion the PC voltage switch (switch marked D)
as appropriate.
- Replace the rear door using the spanner pro-
vided.
- The wheel aligner card supplied has already
been fitted in the sim card slot.
- Connect the power supply cable to the plug
provided; first read the "Electrical Hook-up"
section.
- Power up the PC, the monitor and the printer
with the switches provided.
- Upgrade the wheel aligner software if neces-
sary, "Updating the Wheel Aligner Software"
section, and install any optional kits, "Installing
Additional Functions" section.
