11.8 REPlACINg ThE PUMP SEAl
1) To access the pump, follow steps 3 to 9 in section 11.7.
2) Locate the pump intake block on which is fastened the tran-
sparent pipe with metal coil (A) that connects the pump to the
vacuum chamber.
3) Use a hexagon wrench to undo the two screw fasteners on the
block. Lift the intake block (Fig. 1).
4) Remove first the rubber seal and then the steel one. Check the
condition of the accessible intake section and clean it if necessary
with a cloth soaked in alcohol (Fig. 2).
5) Put in the new rubber and steel seals (Fig. 3).
6) Put the intake block back in place and fasten the two screws (Fig. 1).
7) Reclose the appliance, following steps 16-19 in section 11.7.
