INSPECTION
In the event of anomalies, check first of all that the
recharging system is working properly. To inspect
the battery, remove it from the cycle and proceed
as follows:
Look to see that:
– there are no evident signs of sulphatisation
(visible from the whitening of one or more
elements);
– the level of the electrolyte is between the two
reference nothces MIN and MAX;
– there are no leaks from the container (exter-
nal casing).
Charge the battery slowly for at least 10 hours.
Then check the density of the electrolyte in ea-
ch element using a densimeter. If the density is
lower than 1,26 in some elements, or if the id-
ling output is lower than 12V, the battery needs
to be replaced.
RETURN UNDER GUARANTEE
Batteries with the following characteristics will not
be recognised as being under guarantee:
mechanical damage (eg broken container, bent
poles etc);
general sulphatisation (due to wrong activita-
tion or use of the battery);
insufficient electrolyte level (to solve to pro-
blem of delivery, it is sufficient to close the
breather with the special rubber plug).
SAFETY STANDARDS
WARNING:
Remember that the electrolyte fluid contains
sulphuric acid. Avoid contact with the skin and
clothes and always deep the batteries well away
from sources of excessive heat or sparks, especial-
ly during charging, since the hydrogen released
might cause explosions.

CONTROL
En caso de anomalías, controlar, antes de todo,
que el sistema de recarga funcione correctamente.
Para controlar la batería, hay que extraerla de la
motocicleta y proceder de la manera siguiente:
Verificar visualmente que:
– no haya señales evidentes de sulfatación
(que se manifiesta con una coloración blanca
de uno o más de un elemento);
– que el nivel del electrólito esté comprendido
entre las dos muescas de referencia MIN y
MAX;
– que no hayan pérdidas del recipiente (envol-
tura externa).
Poner la batería a una carga lenta por unas 10
horas como mínimo.
Controlar la densidad del electrólito en cada
elemento, después de la recarga, con un densí-
metro. Si la densidad es inferior a 1,26 en
algún elemento, o bien si la tensión en vacío es
inferior a 12V, hay que substituir la batería.
DEVOLUCION DURANTE LA GARANTIA
No se aceptarán durante la garantía las baterías
que presenten:
roturas mecánicas (como por ejemplo: reci-
piente abollado, polos doblados, etc);
sulfatación generalizada (causada por un uso o
funcionamiento erróneo de la batería);
nivel del electrólito insuficiente (para solucio-
nar el problema del envío es suficiente cerrar el
purgador con el tapón especial de goma).
NORMAS DE SEGURIDAD
ATENCION:
Recordamos que el líquido electrólito contiene
ácido sulfúrico. Por lo tanto, hay que evitar el con-
tacto con la piel o la ropa y mantener las baterías
lejos de fuentes excesivas de calor, o de chispas,
especialmente cuando la batería es sometida a
carga, pues el hidrógeno que se dispersa podría
originar explosiones.
