10.2.1
Standard cleaning procedure
NOTE!
Cleaning work on the welding tongs may only be carried after it has cooled down completely!
NOTE!
Cleaning of the welding tongs should be carried out at least every 500 welding processes.
Shorter cleaning intervals influence the equipment service life positively.
CAuTION!
Never spray lubricant into the welding tongs!
The use of lubricants can severely influence the function and cause damage.
Required cleaning materials:
• Lint-free cotton cloth
• Lubricant (e.g. CASTROL LONGTIME PD 2). Observe safety data sheet of the spray cleaner used!
1. Remove soiled lubricant from the sliding surface of the rotor bearing using a lint-free cotton cloth and apply fresh lubricant
thinly.
2. After each usage clean surfaces with a lint-free cotton cloth.
3. Remove foreign matter from the gas nozzle and gas lens. In the case of stubborn soiling, a Scotch-Brite cleaning sponge or a
comparable product can be used.
10.3
Replacing the gas nozzle and lens
1. Remove any mounted electrode, see chap. 8.4, p. 92.
2. Screw off any soiled or damaged gas nozzle and screw on the new gas nozzle.
Carry out the following additional steps to replace the gas lens:
3. Screw off the gas lens and screw on the new gas lens.
4. Place on the Teflon seal again.
