Commissioning of a device with digital I/O communication
Ensure that an exchange module is installed in the device.
Please note the instructions relating to electrically conductive objects (Figs. 5 to 8).
Ensure that sufficient suction extraction is assured in the work area.
Ensure that the module carrier has a functioning gas supply.
Ensure that the rack has a supply voltage of 24 V.
Apply the desired voltage to the 'Plasma On' switch input.
While plasma is being generated, do not reach into the working area. This may interrupt
plasma discharge and cause skin irritation and/or be found to cause slight pain.
Attention – Damage to device!
The device may get damaged if it is operated without a gas supply.
This would interrupt the flow of cooling medium required during operation.
Monitor the gas flow to the module carrier and interrupt the plasma generation
immediately if the gas supply is interrupted.
We recommend monitoring the suction power in the process. It is advisable only to
genereate plasma when sufficient gas is being supplied.
The device can be damaged if there are electrically conductive objects closer than 40 mm
around the front third of the device.
Exception: Substrate in front of the exchange module when using the modules intended
for this purpose, e.g. the 'Nearfield' module.
Note!
In some circumstances, the electrical fields generated by the device can damage sensitive
electronic components. Ensure that the components in your application are not affected
adversely by the plasma process.
