Working with the 'Standard' exchange module
This exchange module serves a wide variety of
applications on electrically non-conductive
substrates / materials such as plastics, ceramics,
glass, natural fibres, leather, textiles etc. When
using the 'Standard' exchange module, a working
distance of approx. 2 to 10 mm must be
maintained.
Electrically conductive substrates such as metals
or conductive polymers cannot be treated reliably
with this nozzle.
When treating electrically conductive substrates
and materials, sparkovers can occur if they are
too close together. In such cases, the device will
stop plasma generation after approx. 0.5 seconds.

Working with the 'Nearfield' exchange module
The 'Nearfield' exchange module was
developed specifically for the treatment of
electrically conductive substrates / materials
such as metals or conductive polymers.
Partially conductive material such as carbon
fibre-reinforced plastic (CFC) should also be
treated using this exchange module.
The device can only generate surface
activation if there is an electrically conductive
substrate in front of the device within the range
of the permissible working distance. This
measures approx. 0.5 to 2.0 mm. If the gap is
wider, depending on the material and form of your
substrate, there are circumstances where no
plasma generation can take place.
If the distance chosen is too great, the device stops
plasma generation automatically after 5 seconds.
Caution – Hot surface!
The exchange modules can become hot due to operation. Do not touch them until they
have cooled down, and ensure when working with exchange modules that they do not
damage surfaces that are not sufficiently heat-resistant.
