Changeover in error mode
Error mode is changed over by a DIP switch on the driver unit. To be able to change this
over, remove both screws (TX8 wrench). The cover can then be folded away to one side.
Error mode is changed over using switch number 7.
-
'Failure' mode: Switch in the 'OFF' position / right (delivery condition)
When an error is detected, the device switches immediately into ERROR mode and
stops plasma generation.
-
'Warning' mode: Switch in position 'ON' / left
Initially, when an error is detected, the device just goes into warning mode (yellow
LED), but it continues to generate plasma. ERROR mode, which protects the
device, is not invoked until the device exceeds permitted parameters.
All other switches in the current version of this device have no function and should be
left in the 'OFF' / right-hand position.
Attention – Damage to device!
The default setting for error mode is factory-set to 'Failure'. This stops the device to
protect the exchange module from situations that could damage the piezo element.
Furthermore, this is an indicator that this plasma discharge is not suitable for the
material being treated and does not lead to any satisfactory surface activation.
There are however materials (e.g. composites or liquids) that cannot be treated using
the 'Failure' setting. However, the changeover to the 'Warning' error mode can cause
the exchange module to get damaged, depending on which material or which process
parameters are being used.
Only implement error mode when the power supply is isolated.
