2.1.4 Personal protection equipment (PPE)
The operators responsible for mounting and servicing the gauge must use the personal protection
equipment listed below:

Personnel responsible for operating the gauge/machine where it is installed:
When using the gauge, the operator is not required to use any specific PPE apart from the items that are
obligatory in the local working environment.
Additional information may be found in the manual provided with the machine where the gauge is to be
installed.
Maintenance personnel:

The operator may only use PPE that conform to the directive 89/686/CEE (modified) covering personal
protection equipment bearing the CE mark.
The operator (see paragraph 2.1.3.1 Definition of operator) must respect the directive 89/656/CEE that
defines how to use personal protection equipment when working.
ATTENTION
In order to guarantee the complete safety of the operator, this list should not be considered
exhaustive. The operator shall be responsible for ensuring that the personal protection systems
that are obligatory in the production environment (factory) and prescribed by the employer are
complete and in good condition.
