5.3.3 Aligning the arm with the machine X axis
Once the arm has been mounted in the machine, the parallel cube must be aligned with the machine X
axis.
To align the stylus, proceed as follows:
1. Loosen the two screws (a) corresponding to the slots on the arm mounting base and regulate the
lower (pivot) mouting screw (b) so that it is hand-tight.
2. rotate the arm with respect to the screw (b) in order to align the contact so that it is parallel to the
machine X axis. The contact must be parallel to the the machine X axis to within 0.05 mm (see Figure
5-4).
3. Tighten the 3 screws, making sure that the the alignment is not affected.
4. Position the base. Drill the holes in the support using the holes (c) in the base as a template. Insert
the cylindrical pins contained in the Kit, then apply the anti-corrosive treatment to them.
