TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
4.1 General warnings
4.1.1 Personal protection equipment (PPE)
The operators responsible for transporting, storing and installing the Arm must procure and use the PPE
indicated in paragraph 2.1.4 Personal protection equipment (PPE), in addition to the obligatory equipment
for use in the environment where the Arm is installed.
4.1.2 Training
The operators responsible for transporting, storing and installing the Arm must receiving training in
accordance with the requirements of the Council directive 89/391/EEC (see paragraph 2.1.5.3 Training).
4.1.3 State of tools and equipment
The operators must use the equipment listed in the corresponding paragraphs when carrying out transport,
storage and installation operations.
It is important to ensure that the equipment and tools are in good condition and that they are not worn,
excessively aged or weakened in any way.
The tools must be selected in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations governing working tools
and must be used in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions.
4.1.4 Moving loads
While moving loads, the operators must take care to avoid dangerous movements that could give rise to
hazardous situations exposing themselves or other personnel to risks.
Lifting operations must be performed in accordance with the instructions provided with the lifting gear in
use.
4.1.5 Taking delivery of the material
All the technical components of the Arm are checked thoroughly when they are packed in order to avoid
shipping damaged material.
When unpacking the material, check that the Arm is in perfect condition: If any damage is found, inform the
manufacturer immediately.
