Operations to carry out
This operation also comprises substitution of the air cleaner
case, gasket between air cleaner and carburettor and of
the air intake bellows, with the corresponding parts in
dicated on the Spare Parts List; furthemore the pre-existing
terminals on the choke control should be removed and
the cable ends folded over to form an eyelet for attaching
to the « starter valve ». When applying the new air cleaner
body, interference is verified on the upper outer zone of
the crankcase; it can be rectified by lightly filing the area
in question.
In cases where the rear and pilot light bulbs are defective,
to avoid the possibility of the bulbs continually blowing
out, the following points should be noted.
The above mentioned bulbs are interconnected in parallel
on the No. l feed coil circuit ( see wiring diag. in booklet
Operation and Maintenance) ; thence when one of these
bulbs blows out the other can be damaged and it is the
refore the case on changing a buld to substitute both con
temporaneously.
So a s to avoid the blowing out of one of the bulbs when
the other is not in perfect contact with its relative socket,
operate as fol lows on assy :
Tubular bulb for rear light: bend the bronze bulb holder
spring so as to ensure a positive pressure contact on the
bulb socket.
