To replace the the main fuel filter

cartridge (C fig. 3) proceed as follows:

IMPORTANT
Turn off the engine and remove the
ignition key. Wait at least 6 minutes

before disconnecting the negative
battery cable.
1 - Carry out the operation with the engine
cold.
2 - Prepare a container under the filter to
collect any leak (fig.4).
3 - Using a suitable commercial wrench,
disassemble the cartridge and replace it
(C fig.4).
4 - Lubricate the seal of the new cartridge

with fuel according to the specifications on
page 13 before installing it.
5 - Fit the new cartridge (C fig.4)
6 - Bleed air from the fuel supply circuit
(see Air Bleeding From Fuel Supply Circuit
C
on page 54).
9 - Start the engine and keep it at idle
speed for the time necessary to check for
possible fuel leaks.
