ENGINE GENERAL DESCRIPTION
GB
The R753IE5 engine has been designed and built to be installed on vehicles for off-road
applications, approved according to the EURO VI anti-pollution directives.
MAIN COMPONENTS OF ENGINE R753IE5
1) Thermostatic valve: adjusts the coolant
temperature according to the engine
operating temperature.
2) Rail: stores pressurised fuel and
distributes it to the injectors.
3) Injector: injects pressurised fuel into the
combustion chamber.
4) Alternating current generator: produces
and regulates the electric system voltage.
5) High pressure injection pump: feeds the
rail with fuel under pressure.
6) Starter: used to start the engine.
7) Oil filter: retains impurities.
8) Cooler: cools the engine oil by heat
exchange with the coolant fluid.
9) Linear accessory belt tensioner: keeps
the accessory belt constantly tightened.
10) Water pump: feeds the cooling circuit.
11) Accessory belt: operates the service
parts.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
12) Oil/air vapour separator: separates
and circulates part of the oil contained in
the oil/air vapour back into the engine.
13) Turbocharger: it consists of a turbine
which uses part of the exhaust gas energy
to carry out the engine turbocharging.
14) TVA: Air flow control valve. The valve
regulates the flow of air drawn in by the
engine, particularly when the EGR valve is
operating.
15) Suction manifold: conveys the
combustion air into the combustion
chamber.
16) Oil sump: contains the engine
lubrication oil.
17) Exhaust manifold: used to expel the
combustion gases.
18) Air filter: filters the air drawn in by the
engine.
19) Preheating glow plugs: facilitate
engine combustion and engine cold
starting and with low ambient temperature.
