MIL WARNING LIGHT
By means of a pre-defined visual sequence, the MIL warning light indicates the presence
of a malfunction of one or more mechanical and electronic components of the engine.
With engine ignition key in "ON" position, the MIL warning light flashes (on / off with
intervals of 15 seconds). With engine on, the MIL warning light is normally off.
ACTIVATION AND BEHAVIOUR OF MIL WARNING LIGHT
With engine running, the MIL warning light may have the following behaviours:
1- MIL warning light OFF = no error.
2 - MIL warning light ON for 15 seconds = minor error with low impact on emissions
(the engine remains compliant with the regulations on emissions).
3 - MIL warning light steady ON = important engine error (not related to emissions).
4 - MIL warning light steady ON and DWS light ON / flashing = severe error on
emission-related system, see Inducement strategy - DWS gas emission control
system warning light on page 31.
CAUTION - WARNING
Whenever the MIL warning light turns
on (as described in points 2 - 3 - 4)
stop using the engine and contact
asap the manufacturer of the vehicle
in which the engine is installed or a
workshop authorised by VM MOTORI
STELLANTIS EUROPE, in order to
check the type of problem. Reuse the
engine only after having solved the
problem.
