• that the used program is suitable for the Deflector Shaft and has sufficient
rinsing cycles,
• that only sterile or germ-reduced, (max. 10 germs/ml) as well as, endotoxine
reduced (max. 0.25 endotoxine units/ml) water (e.g. purified/highly purified
water) is used for rinsing,
• that the air used for drying is filtered,
• that the washer-disinfector unit is maintained and inspected regularly.
When selecting the applied cleaning system, ensure:
• that it is suitable for cleaning metal and plastic instruments,
• that – unless thermal disinfection is used – a suitable disinfectant with va-
lidated efficacy (e.g. VAH/DGHM or FDA approved or with a CE Marking) is
used and that this is compatible with the applied cleanser,
• that the applied chemicals are compatible with the Deflector Shaft (refer to
chapter "15 Material durability").
The concentration provided by the manufacturer of the cleaning
resp. disinfection agent must be followed.
PROCEDURE
1. Ensure that the required pre-treatment (see chapter 11.2) was performed.
2. For cleaning, place the Deflector Shaft into the cleaning and sterilization
tray for the Deflector Shaft (REF JSBDSST4680, depicted in figure 13; or
REF JSBDSST4780, depicted in figure 13.1).

3. Connect the lumen of the Deflector Shaft by using the Luer-Lock connector
on the product to the rinsing connection of the washer-disinfector unit
(figure 13.2 and 13.3) and close the lid of the tray.
