7.2.4 SIDE SKIDS
To adjust working depth on this type of machine you must loosen
the adjustment screw (1 Fig.30) and raise or lower the skid the
desired amount. Then retighten the srew.
Both skids should be subjected to this operation which will vary
according to the type of soil.
7.2.5 FRONT WHEELS
Depth regulations can also be done with the two front wheels
(Fig.31).
Normally these wheels will be set at the same tracts as the tractor
wheels to avoid the furrow.
Depth adjustment is made with the series of holes on the moving
part of the vertical strut.
The front wheels placed in front of the rotary tiller, when passing
over ground that has not yet been tilled, do not leave marks
and do not increase the overall dimensions of the machine.
7.2.6 DOUBLE RUBBER FRONT WHEELS
The double rubber front wheels (Fig.32), allow working at shallower
depths and higher speeds than regular rotary tillers. It is particularly
suitable for cover crops, because it retains the residue in the top few
cm of soil, thus improving its structure and the amount of organic
matter present.
7.3 ADJUSTMENT OF THE REAR BONNETS
The adjustable rear bonnets offer the possibility to have different
settings, ensuring excellent results in all ground conditions.
The system allows an adjustment of the bonnets by means of the
mechanical jacks accompanied by a graduated rod for the position
control. (2 Fig.33)
Lifting the rear bonnets, a lower refi ning and leveling of the ground
will be achieved (recommended on wet soils), lowering them you
will get a more refi ned and leveled ground (recommended on dry
soils), but also a greater power consumption.
Adjust the working depth and the height of the double rear bonnets
according on the type of worked soil, and on the result needed to
be achieved.
7.3.1 HYDRAULIC REAR BONNETS ADJUSTMENT
The machine has 2 hydraulic cylinders for adjusting the rear bon-
nets (1 Fig.34).
After having hitched it to the tractor, connect the hydraulic pipes to
this latter so as to operate the roller regulating cylinders.
The operator can make the most suitable adjustments from inside
the tractor.
The two cylinders also have an automatic blocking valve.
