Chapter 2 Safety regulations

Intended use

The operational safety of the labeller is only guaranteed when used as intended.
An intended use shall be considered as such, if ...
the labeller is exclusively used for the automatic labelling of moving or stationary
products.
manual interventions are only made after the labeller has been stopped.
the labeller is used for the products agreed upon with the customer, and with the
accordingly agreed-upon labels. The products and labels must correspond to the
specifications *documented and agreed upon between the machine manufacturer
and the customer.

"Documented specifications" are usually stated in the SAD (System Application Description), which are provided to
the customer together with the order confirmation.
the labeller is used in a non-explosive environment. (No EX protection suitabil-
ity!).
the labeller does not come into direct contact with food.
the labeller is not used for outdoor applications.
the labeller is used in a wet environment with an automatic
slide plate at the stamp outlet.
the labeller is operated with additional ventilation measures in the stainless steel
protective enclosure for use in aggressive air environments (e.g. salty air or simi-
lar).
the labeller is operated with additional ventilation measures in the protective en-
closure for the deployment in dusty environments with floating particles.
the labeller is only used in the industrial sector.
the working conditions and instructions prescribed these operating instructions
are complied with.
Faults on the labeller, which could affect the safety must be reported immediate-
ly, and also immediately eliminated by qualified and trained personnel.
the maintenance is carried out properly.
the labeller is only operated in a flawless state.
protective devices are not bypassed or deactivated.
arbitrary changes to the machine are not performed.
the labeller is only operated and handled by suitable personnel, see "Approved
persons" (see page 19). These people must have read and understood the oper-
ating instructions.
A handling of the labeller which fails to observe one of these points, is considered as im-
proper and can lead to serious property damage and personal injury.
