32.3. Barcode Scanner

The balance enables cooperation with a barcode scanner. The barcode scanner is used to facilitate
quick search for database records:

To configure barcode scanner enter:

Caution!
Enter <Communication> submenu and set baud rate for a barcode scanner (by default 9600b/s). For
detailed description of 'balance' - 'barcode scanner' communication read APPENDIX E of this user
manual.

Barcode Scanner Port

Procedure:
1. Enter < Peripherals> parameter.
2. Go to „ Barcode scanner /
3. Select respective option.
Ports for 'balance' – 'scanner' communication:

Prefix/Suffix

You can edit < Prefix> and <
Caution:
In RADWAG-adopted standard, the prefix is 01 sign (byte) hexadecimal format, the suffix is 0D sign
(byte) hexadecimal format.

Procedure:
1. Enter < Barcode scanner> submenu,
2. Select < Prefix> parameter and enter hexadecimal value using the on-screen keyboard. Press
button to confirm.
3. Select < Suffix> parameter and enter hexadecimal value using the on-screen keyboard. Press
button to confirm.
