Caution! Be careful while uninstalling the components so as not to cause any damages to the balance
mechanism.

3.4. Maintenance Activities

Electric shock.
Some balance models are equipped with an ionizer. Make sure to take special safety measures
during maintenance.
1. The balance must be disconnected from the mains before maintenance.
2. Ensure that no liquid comes into contact with the power supply.
3. Never open the balance housing, terminal, ionizer or power supply – they contain no internal
components that can be cleaned, repaired or replaced by the user.
4. Do not connect the balance to the mains until the cleaned parts are dry.
5. Any maintenance activities or cleaning must be performed 5 minutes after disconnection of
the device from the mains.
6. The emitter pins are sharp. Do not touch them directly as this may cause body injury.
The ionizer covers have to be cleaned at least once a month using a lint-free cloth soaked with
alcohol-based substance.
Caution! Cleaning the weighing pan while still installed may cause damage of the measuring system.
1. Uninstall the weighing pan and other detachable components (the components differ depending
on a balance type – see section: UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION). Be careful while
uninstalling the components so as not to cause any damages to the balance mechanism. In case
of microbalance it is recommended to take the weighing pan out using tweezers.
2. Using handheld vacuum cleaner remove dust from the weighing chamber (recommended for the
microbalance).
3. In order to ease cleaning of some of the weighing instrument components, it is permissible to
remove them following the below instruction.
Install all standard components:
- bottom weighing chamber shield (4),
- bottom ring (3),
- standard weighing pan (1),
- draft shield (2).
Install additional accessories.
Connect the balance to the mains, to do it use
power supply that comes standard with the
balance.
Prior filters weighing remove draft shield (2),
standard weighing pan (1), and bottom shield
(3). Next open the weighing chamber, inside
place a glass shield (6), install a pan - stand
intended for weighing of the filters (5).
Tare balance indication.
Start weighing.
