GLOSSARY OF THE TERMS
The glossary provides a definition of some ter-
ms used in drawing up this information to make
their meaning clearer.
– Training: A training process aimed totransfer
knowledge, skills and all behaviours required to
work in an autonomous, practical, correct and
risk-free way.
– Before starting to train the operator, please
check if he knows the basic functions of a remo-
te control and that he has recognised experien-
ce in the reference sector.
– Emergency stop: Under conditions of upco-
ming risk, the voluntary activation of the com-
mand to stop all moving parts whose operation
could pose a risk.
– Stop under alarm conditions: A state in which
the moving parts are stopped when the control
system detects a malfunctioning.
– General stop: A state in which, in addition to
normal stop, all power supply sources are also
disconnected.
– Maintenance worker: An authorised technician
who is appointed to carry out tasks that cannot
be assigned to the operator.
– The maintenance worker should own detailed
information and recognised skills with special
capacities in the relevant area.
– Routine maintenance: A set of operations to
be performed on the machine, which are requi-
red to guarantee continued compliance with sa-
fety requirements and a longer service life
– A good maintenance allows to ensure perfor-
mance over time, a longer service life and a ste-

– Transport and handling workers: authorised pe-
ople having recognised skills in using transport
means and lifting devices under safety condi-
tions.
– Incorrect use: A reasonably predictable use,
different from that stated in the user manual,
that can be a consequence of human behaviour.
