ENGINE OIL CHANGE
Turn off the engine and remove the
GB
ignition key. Turn on the engine after
at least five minutes from turning off,
paying attention not to touch the engine
parts to avoid the risk of burning.
In this condition, the warm engine oil
facilitates the flow of debris particles
suspended in the oil to be drained.
When the engine oil is completely cold,
the suspended debris tend to settle at
the bottom of the oil sump and then
circulate again when the engine is
started with new oil.
Follow the procedure below:
1 - Place a container with suitable
capacity under the point where the old oil
is drained.
2 - Unscrew the filler plug (M).
3 - Unscrew the drain plug (Q) and let all
the oil flow into the container.
4 - Replace the seal and screw the drain
plug (Q) back in place.
Tighten the drain plug with a tightening
torque of 78.5 Nm.
5 - Pour the new oil until it reaches the
correct level on the dipstick (see "Engine
oil level check" on page 51 and "Technical
data" on page 14 for the correct oil quantity).
6 - Screw in the filler plug (M).
7 - Start the engine and bring it to the
operating temperature of 70°C - 80°C
(158°F - 176°F) for approx. five minutes.
Check for any oil leaks.
8 - Turn off the engine and check the oil
level (see "Engine oil level check" on page
51).
