BELT REPLACEMENT
Before starting any operation, check

for accessibility depending on how
the engine is located in the vehicle in
which it is installed and disconnect the
general power supply cable (battery
cable).
In any case, for this type of operation
it is recommended to contact the
manufacturer of the vehicle in which
the engine is installed or a workshop
authorised by VM MOTORI FCA ITALY.
Follow the procedure below.
1 - Turn off the engine and remove the
ignition key.
2 - Let the engine cool down adequately to
avoid the risk of burning.
3 - Turn the automatic tensioner (A)
counter-clockwise to loosen the belt (B)
and remove it from the pulley (C).
4 - Remove the belt (D) and replace it.
The figure shows an example of belt-rotation configuration.

Before tightening the belt, make sure
that it is correctly positioned in the
pulley seats.
Before restarting the engine, make sure
there are no tools or other material near
the moving parts.
Do not dump any replaced part in the
environment. Carry out their disposal in
compliance with the relevant legislation
in force.
