SEA WATER CIRCUIT WASHING
CAUTION - WARNING
Never start or operate the engine without wa-
ter circulating in the circuit.
Operating with an open seawater inlet or open
may cause seawater to enter the boat causing
damage or shipwreck with a risk of personal
injury on board.
The washing of the sea water circuit with fresh wa-
ter is usually necessary for boats operating in salt
water, brackish water, polluted water or water with
high mineral content, in order to avoid the forma-
tion and sedimentation of salt and/or silt-mud.
For best results it is recommended to:
- wash the sea water circuit after each excur-
sion-use of the boat.
- wash with fresh water mixed with 20-30 % of
propylene glycol to avoid the risk of freezing of any
residual water left in the circuit after washing.
IMPORTANT
Washing is always necessary before putting
the engine into storage, or after it is used at
sea or in salt water.
To wash the engine, proceed as follows:
1 - Operate with the engine switched off and luke-
warm or cold.
Ignition key off and battery negative cable discon-
nected.
2 - Close the sea inlet, or remove and plug the
seawater suction pipe.
3 - Remove the cover (M) and the inner container
4 - Insert a rubber water hose into the drain side
hole (F), towards the sea water pump, of the sea
5 - Partially open the fresh water source so as not
6 - Make sure that the boat's remote control is in
neutral position and that the throttle lever is in the
lowest rpm position (see table on page 13).
7 - Start the engine.
