BATTERY
Information on the recommended battery charac-
teristics can be found on page 14.
The main characteristics are normally indicated
on the battery.
The battery is not a component supplied with
the engine.
For use and maintenance of the battery refer to
the instructions of the manufacturer of the boat
where the engine is installed.
DANGER - WARNING
For recharging operations, contact an
authorised VM MOTORI FCA ITALY workshop.
Always remove the battery from the boat and
recharge it in a ventilated area away from
PRECAUTIONS FOR SELECTION AND USE OF BATTERY
The battery charging alternator mounted on the
engine is designed to charge a single battery that
provides electrical power to the individual engine
where the battery charging alternator is installed.
Do not connect two batteries to the same battery
charging alternator unless a suitable battery iso-
lating switch is used.
The battery must have the characteristics to main-
tain the voltage of the engine management unit
stable.

When handling or servicing the battery, always
wear suitable protective clothing and keep the
working area ventilated.
The battery produces gases that can ignite and
acid that can cause severe burns.
IMPORTANT
If necessary, contact an authorised VM MO-
TORI FCA ITALY workshop or the boat builder
where the engine is installed.
