Lowest Latency Processing on Teranex AV
A low latency mode is available on Teranex AV that can perform common conversions in much
lower latency than regular processing. The lowest latency mode of processing for certain format
conversions will run at a latency of 2 frames. This is very useful in live production environments to
reduce delays between the live action and the image being displayed on monitors or projectors.
In this example, 1080i59.94 is converted to Ultra HD 2160p59.94 using the Lowest Latency
mode in  the 'processing' menu.
Power your Teranex AV processor and connect your inputs and outputs.
Select a conversion that supports low latency, then enable low latency mode.
Setting your Input
1
Press the 'in' button on the control panel and select 'SDI' video.
2
Teranex will display the input video on the LCD, automatically detect the input format
and illuminate the corresponding buttons.
Setting your Output
1
Press the 'out' button on the control panel. On the Teranex AV, the 'SDI' and 'embed'
buttons will be blue.
2
Press the 'Ultra HD' button. The button will illuminate green. Select the 'P' button for
progressive output and the '59.94' button to set the frame rate. These buttons will also
illuminate green.
3
Using the soft menu buttons, select 'change'. The output video is now displayed on the
LCD and sent to all output connectors. The buttons will also illuminate blue to confirm
your settings.
