6) Remove the remote control cable [throttle side] from the
throttle arm.
Loosen the remote control cable [throttle side] lock nut and

adjust by turning the shift pivot until the shift pivot sets on
the throttle arm smoothly.

• Adjustment must be made with the throttle and the
throttle arm in the full open position (P. 3-18).

After adjustment, tighten the lock nut securely.

7) Install the remote control cable [throttle side] on the

throttle arm and recheck (P. 3-18).

8) Return the throttle to the full close position, and check that

the projection on the throttle arm is behind the throttle cam
by viewing the throttle arm bracket assembly from the front
14
side as shown.

9) When the projection on the throttle arm is not behind the
throttle cam, adjust as follows.

10) Remove the throttle rod from the throttle cam.
Loosen the 5 mm hex nut on the throttle rod and adjust the

length of the throttle rod by turning the linkage pivot.

11) After adjustment, tighten the 5 mm hex nut securely and
install the throttle rod on the throttle cam.

12) Check whether the throttle moves smoothly.
20
13) Install the engine cover (P. 4-2).
