Inspection on Side Mount Remote Control Type
Only:
1) Remove the remote control box housing B/C (P. 15-3).

2) Move the remote control lever to the full open position and

check that the sliding arm is in contact with the 5 x 16 mm
hex bolt.

3) If the sliding arm is not in contact with the 5 x 16 mm hex
bolt, tighten until the hex bolt comes in contact with the link

joint arm.

4) Install the remote control box housing B/C (P. 15-3).

Shift Rod Adjustment:
1) Put the outboard motor in the "R" (Reverse) gear, and check
15
that the shift link B is in the reverse gear position, too.
Set the shift link in the "R" (Reverse) position and check that
the outboard motor is in gear by turning the propeller shaft
16
with your hand.

2) When the shift link B and the outboard motor are not in the
"R" (Reverse) gear, or when the shift link B is in the "R"
18
(Reverse) position but the outboard motor is out of gear,
perform the following adjustment.
