• ENGINE DOES NOT RUN SMOOTHLY

When the warning buzzer is sounding, perform "c. ALERT SYSTEM" troubleshooting (P. 2-35).
If the warning buzzer does not sound but the engine does not run smoothly, perform the following troubleshooting.
Engine starts but stalls soon.
Idle speed or troll speed is not stable
or engine stalls.
Spark plug is wet or fouled.
Secondary air in the system.
Low pressure side fuel system faulty.
High pressure side fuel system
faulty.
Idle control system faulty.
Replace the spark plug or clean it
(P. 3-8).
• Tighten the IAC mounting bolt to
the specified torque. Replace the
gasket if necessary (P. 5-75).
• Tighten the throttle body mounting
bolt
Replace the gasket if necessary
(P. 5-94).
• Tighten
mounting bolt to the specified
torque. Replace the gasket if
necessary (P. 5-96).
• Replace the injector O-ring or seal
ring if it is damaged (P. 5-87).
• Tighten the fuel line mounting bolt
to the specified torque (P. 5-88).
• Check
control tube for disconnection and
damage.
