Troubleshooting and solutions to problems
ABNORMALITIES
Pressure in the filter dropped too
much.
The filter's pressure increases
too much even with the
programmer on, causing it to go
over 150 mmca and nearing 200
mmca.
Dust comes out of the dryer and
combustion is irregular.
The filter's pressure continues
high even after adjusting the
frequency for a greater cleaning.
The cleaning system is working
normally, but the filter's pressure
continues high.
The pressure on the
compressed air line drops too
much, which makes it difficult to
clean the bags.
Dust is coming out of the
exhaust fan chimney.
There is too much steam
forming in the exhaust fan's
chimney.
Condensation is still occurring
even with fumes at a high
temperature.
The bags are ripping.
The bags have soot on them.
IMPORTANT
The bags can be inspected through the inspection doors located on the bottom part of the filter.

BAG FILTERS
POSSIBLE CAUSES
There could be an excess of
cleaning of the bags.
The exhaust fan damper is closed.
Interval between pulses is too long.
Poor regulation of the burner
Diaphragm valves do not work.
Bags are plugged or impregnated.
Air leak along the pipes.
Interval between air pulses.
Frequency of the programmer.
Compressor is not creating
compression.
Bags do not have a good seal on the
filter's plate.
Venturis are not set in correctly on
the bags and poorly fastened.
Damaged bags.
Temperature of the exhaust fumes is
under 100 ºC.
Saturation is occurring due to too
much humidity in the aggregates.
Friction between the bags or
between them and the walls. The
friction can cause the bags to wear
and rip and consequently dust gets
through.
Burner poorly regulated.
FILTRE A MANCHES
SOLUTIONS
Turn off the programmer and wait for the pressure to rise
again. If after turning the programmer back on, the
pressure drops again, adjust the programmer.
The pulse jet time should stay between 20 and 60
milliseconds and the frequency between 10 and 15
seconds. These intervals provide the ideal level so that
the pressure stays around 100 and 150 mmca.
The pulse time regulation and interval between pulses
should be according to the compressor's operation,
group 01.05.08 - Pneumatic System.
Check the opening of the exhaust fan damper.
Reduce the interval between one pulse of air and the
next in order to accelerate the cleaning of the bags.
Adjust the frequency of the programmer to a lower time.
The pulse time regulation and interval between pulses
should be according to the compressor's operation,
group 01.05.08 - Pneumatic System.
Adjust the burner.
Check if all of the diaphragm-valves and their respective
solenoids are working. If there are valves damaged, the
corresponding bags and these valves will not be cleaned
and this leaves them completely obstructed.
Fix or replace the defective valves.
Turn off the exhaust fan and keep the bag cleaning
system active for 1 hour without production.
Wash the bags - Procedure for washing the bags.
Replace the bags if the problem continues.
Check and repair the leaks.
Check the pulse time on the programmer.
Make sure that the pulse time is between 80 and 120
milliseconds.
Check if the actual jet pulse frequency is between 8 and
15 seconds.
Check the compressor and repair it.
Check and correct.
Check and correct.
Check and replace with new bags.
Make sure that the cold air damper is completely closed.
Increase the flame intensity.
Increase the flame length.
Reduce the Plant's production until the fume saturation
level is eliminated.
Check if there is contact between the bags or between
them and the walls.
Align the bags.
Adjust the burner.
Do a good cleaning of the bags.
