Setting up the drag conveyor in the working position
The drag conveyor leaves the factory in the transportation position, fig. 16, which is within highway transportation limits.
The following steps should be taken to set it up in the working position:
1. Remove the locking bolts from the conveyor/silo set on the support base that are on the Plant's chassis, fig. 17;
2. Raise the set by the chain hoist located above the drag conveyor, fig. 18. The ideal would be to raise it only enough to
clear the support welded on the chassis. This would cause the conveyor to turn at a lower height in relation to the
ground;
3. Only two people are needed to leave the conveyor perpendicular to the Plant and to pull it to a working position, fig.
19;
4. The conveyor comes connected to the central part in order to remain within the transportation height limit. When
putting it into working position, raise it using the chain hoist until the drag conveyor's closing surfaces meet, fig. 20,
det. A, and then do the fastening with the bolts. Next stretch it using the stretching rod, leaving the spring tensioned,
fig. 20, det. B;
5. Once the conveyor is perpendicular with the Plant and the swinging part is locked as needed, then a tightener should
be used to connect the conveyor's bottom part with the chassis, fig. 20, det. C. This will avoid possible vibrations on
the bottom part;
6. In order to assemble the support feet, first of all loosen the bolts that fasten the feet in the conveyor's bottom support,
fig. 21, det. D;
7. Assemble the feet in the working position, fig. 22;
8. Release the chain hoist until the system is supported on the feet and pay attention to the silo's level.
ATTENTION
The feet of the conveyor must be right at ground level before releasing the chain hoist.
If the ground is not level, this should be corrected in order to keep the conveyor from being loose and putting
strain on the joints.
