A.
Indication of the metering control mode: the asphalt pump has two operating
modes that are interconnected to the metering control mode:
Manual: in this mode the operator has full control over the pump. Some of
the options are work frequency input, flow direction (suction or injection),
spray or block asphalt, and to turn off the pump.
Automatic: in this mode the operator only needs to control the right time to
spray asphalt. The rest is controlled by the automated system;
B.
Spray asphalt - block asphalt: this button has the function of spraying or
blocking the asphalt pump. The button switches depending on its state: when
pressed, sprays asphalt; when not pressed, blocks asphalt. The following
message will appear when the metering starts up in automatic mode: "THE
ASPHALT PUMP WILL BE BLOCKED". This message is necessary so that the
operator is reminded to spray asphalt when the ideal production parameters are
reached. At the end of production after the aggregates are turned off, the pump
will spray asphalt for a certain time determined on the asphalt calibration screen;
C.
Turn off: button to turn off the pump when it is in manual metering mode;
D.
Frequency: this is the field for inputting data, which in this case is the desired
frequency for the motor. It is only possible to input data in this field when the
pump is in manual mode since in automatic mode it is only a data reading field
and the pump's frequency is instantaneous;
E.
Suction: when this button is pushed it is possible to invert the direction of the
asphalt flow. This procedure for suctioning the asphalt is to keep the material
from hardening in the line after production has ended. The correct suction
procedure is done right after production is finished;
ATTENTION
The suction time should be enough to clean out the line. The pump should
be turned off after the cleaning and the asphalt line valve closed to keep
fluid from returning and thus avoid problems during the Plant's next
operation.
F.
Injection: when pushing this button the pump will be ready to control the flow of
asphalt from the tank to the mixer. This button is already turned on when
selecting automatic metering control.
