VOLTAGE
The voltage variations for a short
period can be characterized by
instantaneous, momentary, or
temporary changes. These
voltage variations are generally
caused by the energizing of large
loads that require high start-up
currents or by intermittent failures
in the connections of the system's
wires. Depending on the location
of the failure and the system's
conditions, the result can be a
voltage drop or rise of variable
duration or even a complete
interruption of the electric system.
